== The Position == This is a great opportunity to join the department of medicine in a brand new state of the art hospital. This is a truly collegial team who will be on hand to welcome and support you, working alongside 7 physicians with various subspecialties. The hospital is going through an exciting growth phase, presenting an opportunity to contribute to further development of services. The Clinical Director is looking to expand the team and service offering.  With the James Cook University campus on-site and involvement in the Northern Clinical Training Network there is excellent opportunity to be involoved in research within the department.  The Hospital You will join a $408 million state-of-the art facility with a new emergency department, outpatients department, birth suites and special care nursery, intensive care unit and coronary care unit, day surgery and operating theatre suite, inpatient surgical and medical wards, renal support services, day oncology, dental, allied health and mental health facilities. The hospital provides services to a population of around 180,424 people residing in a 90,000 km2 area. The Health Service provides an integrated approach to service delivery across acute, primary health and other community based services including aged care assessment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) programs. Primary Health services within the HHS cover a range of program areas including Integrated Mental Health; Integrated Oral Health; Home and Community Care; Mobile Women?s Health; Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs; Sexual Health; Aged Care Assessment Team; and Breast Screen. == The Location == This stunning region is renowned for beautiful beaches, hinterlands and mountains.
