== The Position == As General Medicine Principle house officer you will help to initiate, maintain and manage patient care on a day to day basis. You will find yourself well supported by staff specialists and senior staff as well as the director of the department and this will help aid in your development. In turn you will support junior staff and students as you strive towards a high quality of clinical care. Due to the size of the hospital, you will obtain a real hands on experience, allowing you to obtain exposure to varied procedures and processes. The Hospital  With 230 beds, this hospital is the main referral centre for the region and services an immediate and surrounding population of roughly 250,000 people. With a newly built seven-storey ward block, this space offers an expanded critical care service, extended emergency care unit and a helipad for trauma patients. As the regional referral centre for emergency services, the facility sees an approximate 45,000 ED presentations per year and a total of 22,000 admissions.
