== The Position == This busy regional health service provider is looking for a highly committed and hardworking General Medicine Hospital Medical Officer to join their high functioning and experienced multidisciplinary team. In this position you will deliver medical care across the General Medical wards with the support of Physician instructions. You will strive to bring the highest quality of care to all patients within the wards, as well as in the newly created 3 bed High Dependency Unit where any previous experience in high acuity care can be beneficial. Daily tasks will include assessment and management of patient care and the role can be accredited with ACRRM Advanced Specialised Training. The Hospital This large regional hospital services a growing population of over 42,000 people and admits 10,000 patients and provides 30,000 outpatient services annually. The Emergency Department sees 16,000 presentations yearly, approximately 3,000 of which are admitted acutely. Having recently drastically increased its capacity to service the needs of the community, this hospital consists of 51 acute beds, 17 non acute beds plus short stay and maternity services. Core services are also provided in the 90 bed Aged Care facility, rehabilitation and outpatients services. == The Location == This little city is situated in a major regional centre surrounded by breathtaking natural attractions such as pristine waterways and national park lands, all of which offer great walking and outdoor activities for the adventurous. For older children and adults, tertiary education in the area is provided by the local TAFE. == Essential Criteria == With your prior General Medicine experience and confidence in being able to assist with the development of junior staff, you must also have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
