== The Position == This fantastic opportunity is for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an innovative and dynamic Mental Health Service to deliver high quality mental health care in Northern Tasmania. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides inpatient and outpatient care to public patients across a number of services including Adult Community, Crisis Assessment, Child & Adolescent and Older persons Psychiatry.  Active involvement in research, trials and teaching will be supported and there is scope to combine == The Position == with private practice.   You will be joining a welcoming and extremely supportive network where the retention rate for mental health staff is high.    The Hospital  This 300-bed accredited teaching hospital has a close partnership with the University of Tasmania. It treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients yearly. The Mental Health Service itself consists of a 20-bed inpatient unit, including 3 high dependency beds. Housing is affordable and the education system is of a high quality with access to a range of schools, colleges and the University of Tasmania.   == Essential Criteria ==   Australia/NZMust hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRAUK/IrelandMust hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or moreUSAMust hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.CanadaMust hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.   Other qualifications can of course be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
