== The Position == This is a fantastic opportunity for an Emergency Medicine Registrar to further their training with an established and leading teaching hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the care of patients attending the Emergency Department in consultation with the responsible Staff Specialists, Nursing and Allied Health professionals as well as alongside the other registrars. For acute patients, you will be responsible for ensuring they undergo a formal assessment process whilst also being involved in the continuous Quality Improvement and Education activities within the department. Other responsibilities include ensuring a comprehensive assessment of short stay patients sufficient for providing guidance for their management, investigation and ongoing treatment. The Hospital The hospital is part of a network that provides health care to a predominantly metropolitan region, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged. The hospital is a major teaching hospital and is also accredited for postgraduate medical training in Anaesthetics, Emergency, O & G, General Medicine, Surgery and Psychiatry. It has the busiest Emergency Department in the area which sees about 60,000 presentations annually with a 30% admission rate and 23% paediatrics cases. == The Location == This city has a fabulous atmosphere thanks to a vibrant migrant community and arts scene. For younger students there is a large range of preschool, primary and secondary options offered both publically and privately. == Essential Criteria ==  To be successful in applying for this position you must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and prior emergency medicine experience.
