== The Position == As a Psychiatrist your primary responsibilities will revolve around the provision of specialist medical assessment and management of patients within the Mental Health Unit. Utilising your previous clinical experience you will provide effective high-quality psychiatry services and adapt practice to reflect contemporary evidence. You will also be responsible for ensuring treatment plans are time effective and well documented, whilst participating fully in the on-call roster as required by the facility.    The role requires a psychiatrist with an interest in teaching and supervising medical students and junior staff. You will be expected to be a positive influence to the medical students whilst developing their medical knowledge and expertise. You will also have the opportunity to continue you?re your own knowledge and participate in relevant research. Another crucial aspect of the role is teamwork; you must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a professional manner as an integral part of a team.    The Hospital You will be joining the region?s major referral and teaching hospital with over 500 beds. The hospital provides a large variety of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services to ensure patients receive excellent health outcomes. The hospital treats 47,000 patients annually including specialist and complex cases. To meet the growing needs of the community the hospital is currently undertaking a $1000000 enhancement, so there is great potential moving forward. As a dedicated teaching hospital, the hospital has strong affiliations with prestigious universities and research institutions. There is even an academic suite used especially for the training medical students.    The Hospital provides excellent opportunities for Psychiatrists. On offer is a comprehensive range of psychiatric services including hospital-based, community and specialist services to youth, adults and aged people in the community. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) is required.
